Re: Constantly running something from forward head/shower
Top photo is just the breaker panel Next is your switches sounds like one maybe bad Next maybe the shower drain pump ( could be the fresh water pump? but likely the shower pump, I would have to be there to be 100% sure Next is the filter Lastly is the vacumun pump for the vacufluch head. Re: Constantly running something from forward head/shower
As said above switches should turn off the pump. Unless someone changed to system to an automatic slump type. Try and port the photos and that will tell. The filter could plugged up or the pump could be bad.

The 318 marine and automotive thermostats are not the same Most of the marine ones close off the bypass when they open

Re: Coolant Leak 671-t
You did not say what was leaking, but I can not think of any coolant leak that would require you to pull the boat out of the water. Can you give more details? And what boat?

Re: Howling like a wolf!
Also look really closely at the engine for vacuum leaks. I have seen howling and whistling noises from carburetor base gaskets. And yes taking it in and out of gear will change the noise due to load and rpm change

Re: Howling like a wolf!
Good question. And I really don't have a good answer. I have to wonder about it coming from the transmission or even the engine? If still making the noise, will it do it in reverse? When increasing rpm? When you put it in neutral, it mostly went away. What about after you shut it off?

Re: Velvet Drive 71C slip in fwd below 1200 rpm
Interesting, I have seen the "in and out of gear" but it was due to low fluid level. I would assume it would not go away at high rpm but did not try. Have you checked the transmission temperature with a temperature gun? If its a lot higher, check the temperature of the fluid hoses going in...

Re: Velvet Drive 71C slip in fwd below 1200 rpm
Slip below 1200? Does it suddenly engage when you are above? I would get a photo tach and compare the engine speed with the prop shaft speed. Make sure you us it on both the engine and the shaft, don't trust the dash tach.
I'm just wondering if it's something on the prop?
