Found 1 of my forward 100gal fuel tanks outboard of Starboard engine developed a couple small holes in a bottom rearward corner.
My service guys are saying we would need to tear that side of the floor up and remove the turbo just to get it out in 1 piece.
Any suggestions on a good fix?
Can bad area be cut out and plate welded on while in boat?
Where can i get a replacement tank even?
Thanks.
Ken

Re: 14M Intl Conv fuel tank
Your service guys are likely right. Saddle are never easy on any boat I have seen. Some even need engine removal to do them. Repairing/welding them in the boat would likely be impossible and not safe. You can have tanks custom-made. There are many tank builders around I used Luthers in Bristol, RI. They do great work. You can also have them repaired once out. There may be a tag on the top of the tank with the builder's info and a part number and maybe able to be ordered from them. Tank builder can also use your old tank as a model or you can get a drawing from Beacon Marine.
