Thought I'd post an update: leak seems to have been stopped for now. My husband cut the strapping and rolled the tank over in it's confined space, and no leak on the bottom.... couldn't find a leak anywhere! Why doesn't it leak when you want it to?
Finally figured it must be the seam at the top end of the tank, so he filled it all in with JB Weld, filled the tank, and waited to see what happens...
Looks like it worked! It'll get us through another season... we'll figure it out later. Time to go cruising!!
Thanks for all your help!

Unfortunately, 3M 5200 will NOT hold up to gas - sorry if I sent anyone down the wrong path there.rossjo wrote:Water makes it cure. It will cure in about 20 minutes under water - so watch working time (probably not an issue with this patch job).pnmudge wrote:Good to know that 5200 cures under water..
