Re: Finnaly started !
Congratulations! It looks like you have a portable tank hooked up to the fuel filter. At least you know that the fuel pump, carb, etc. are good. Now you just need to figure out what's stopping the fuel flow from the tank to the fuel filter. Once you get that figured out you should be all set.gordd wrote:So today my F25 finnaly fired and and sounded pretty good.

Re: Finnaly started !
Ohh and lot of quick start to get initial spark
Re: Finnaly started !
I'm glad you got her going but are you actually holding an open cup of gas in your hand in the engine compartment with the engine running?
You wanna go boom? It was just a little spark away! Not to be critical but that is extremely dangerous. You may already know that but I feel the need to point that out for those that don't, and try to repeat the process. The safer way as I described in the other thread is to use a portable fuel tank and keep it on the deck or better yet the swim platform and ventilate. Don't want to hear about any tragedies here, let's be safe or it's all for not. Happy she's running though

Hi BigD had the portable tank but would not fire up from that for some reason so tryed that . If you noticed kept it far from engine it self and fire extinguisher was on stand by . Strangley that worked. And yes I hope don't have to do that again

Re: Finnaly started !
Soooo...... I shouldn't be smoking with the fuel lines open off the manifold or pour gas out of a wine bottle down the throat of my carbs while doing the same anymore? Aww man. Wheres the fun in that??!! C'mon guys live a little!! You only go down this canal once!!
Hey Dave. My Sea Ray engines have always run great. So good in fact, that I now have a Trojan with Sea Ray engines in it. Best thing about them besides how they run? The color of course! Not that nauseating blue or god forbid that hiddeous white that some folks have seemingly taken to.
Tomorrow I am going to pick up a Nautique with a 351 Ford I just bought. Haven't owned anything with a V-8 Ford in it in ages. I'm kinda excited. That one is not blue either.

Re: Finnaly started !
Smoke was after
I understand concern and safety factor . Fact is ,hatches were open and well vantilated . Had carb backfired on previous trys with a nice bang and snuffed it self out . If vapours were present that would cause big bang with hatches open for hours , then something is seriously wrong and would have to rethink the whole old boat thing. Licenced mechanic that got it going took half hour where my self and previous mechanic tryed for hours. Am pretty sure he knows what to do as well its running
